What We Believe
- We believe The Holy Bible is God’s Special Revelation to us. The Christian scriptures are the infallible and inerrant Word of God, which is fully capable of revealing God’s character and nature, His will for humanity, His plan, and sovereign purpose.
- We believe in one Triune God and He exists in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is truly man and truly God. We believe that Jesus walked this earth and lived a perfectly sinless life, He died a real physical death, and physically rose from the grave defeating sin, death, and the grave.
- We believe every believer must be part of a local body of believers. This allows for the individual follower of Christ to participate in unified worship with fellow believers.
- We believe in regenerate church membership. Upon request of membership, the canidate is “tested” to ensure they demonstrate the fruit of regeneration. This time of counselling is officiated be the church’s pastors or elders. Regenerate church membership ensures the direction of the church will be governed by people who are also led by God’s Spirit and the Word of God.
- We believe that all people are born in sin and cannot approach a Holy God unless He draws them. Each person has to repent of their sinfulness, confess those sins to Jesus, and then be forgive and born again (anew). Salvation is more than just simply stating, “I accept Jesus,” it requires regeneration as the Holy Spirit draws the individual towards repentance.
- We believe a person who is truly regenerate, or “saved,” and has placed their faith in Jesus Christ the risen Lord, will never lose their salvation. Jesus said, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
- We believe the Lord Jesus commanded two ordinances for the church to observe. He commanded the church to observe Baptism by immersion (outward testimony of salvation in Christ), and also the Lord’s Supper or communion. The ordinance of communion is “in remembrance” of the body of Jesus who suffered, and the blood shed for the new covenant. The two ordinances serve as memorials, observed in a worshipful manner that highlights Jesus’ substitutionary death and His glorious resurrection. The ordinances identify the believer with the risen Christ. One is not “baptized into Christ.” Rather, the regenerated person is baptized “into Christ” by the Holy Spirit.”
- We affirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
